Legitify, an online notarisation platform headquartered in Dublin, announced that it has secured €1.5M in a seed round of funding.
The round was led by Verb Ventures and supported by Enterprise Ireland, Actium Partners, Redbay Ventures, and other investors.
Alexander Chikunov, Founding Partner at Verb Ventures, says, “In a remarkably short time, Legitify has emerged as a frontrunner in providing a seamless notarisation solution to professionals across various industries.”
“Their innovative platform addresses a critical need in a market that sees billions of certifications and notarisations annually. We’re thrilled to support Legitify’s growth ambitions and their journey to introduce new products and solutions to their customers.”
Javier Extebeste, Chairman of Rebay Ventures, adds, “Legitify and its founders accumulate the drive, user understanding and legal expertise to build superior products and continue as frontrunners in the massive digital notarisation market.”
Simplifying cross-border transactions
Founded in 2020 by Aida Lutaj and Arko Ganguli, Legitify offers a remote online notarisation solution in Europe and beyond.
Remote notarisation is akin to traditional notarisation, but it occurs in a virtual setting. Users sign up, schedule appointments, and interact with the notary through their devices. Instead of an in-person meeting, the notarisation process is conducted through an audio-video session.
Laws governing remote notarisation differ by jurisdiction, influencing the types of documents that can be notarised remotely based on the respective country or region’s regulations.
Legitify, serving over 1100 customers, claims to be reshaping the standard for online document certification and notarisation, spanning sectors like finance, law, consulting, and real estate across Europe and beyond.
Capital utilisation
Co-founder Lutaj says, “This funding round, spearheaded by Verb Ventures, represents a significant leap forward for Legitify.”
“It not only reinforces our commitment to making cross-border legal processes smoother and more accessible but also paves the way for us to expand our product offering, introduce AI-powered enhancements to our solution and broaden our operational reach.”
“We’re excited to solidify our position as a leader in tech-enabled notarisation and essential business services as we continue to expand into new markets.”
