Hamburg-based ITA Consulting Group, a provider of B2B multi-carrier shipping platform LetMeShip, announced on Wednesday, March 29, that it has acquired The Netherlands-based shipping platform ParcelParcel.

Following years of development and extension into new markets, ITA Consulting is now accelerating its expansion in the European courier, express, and parcels (CEP) market.

What does ParcelParcel offer?

Founded in 2013 by Carlos de Vos and Bas Joustra, ParcelParcel allows businesses in Belgium and the Netherlands to choose and hire the best courier express parcel services (CEP) for the transportation and dispatch of critical documents and products.

The shipment platform says it handles all required services, such as price comparison, service summary, travel times, and customs processing, simply and efficiently.

The company says, “Our goal has remained the same: to provide the very best service in logistics. We do this together with a team of logistics specialists and offer customers a great shipping platform with competitive shipping rates from the largest carriers such as FedEx, TNT and DHL.”

In addition, ParcelParcel also supports both individuals and companies during the shipping process so that they can easily ship worldwide.

Carlos de Vos says, “ITA Consulting Group shares our vision to enable businesses and customers to ship worldwide in an easy and efficient way. In combining strengths, we’re able to expand our services across Europe as a standalone shipping platform focused on small businesses and consumers maintaining our high level of customer service.”

About LetMeShip

LetMeShip is a software that provides a ‘unique’ set of functions for harmonising decentralised shipping processes, lowering costs and saving time. Shipping processing can be done immediately through the online application (DIRECT) or the web service API (CONNECT) for integration into a current IT framework.

Additionally, the software also offers functions such as proactive tracking, online shipping archives, business intelligence reporting, and customs clearance, in combination with personal customer service allowing flexibility and independence while maintaining full cost transparency.

The company was founded in 2000 and employs over 100 logistics and software experts at seven international locations. It also claims to be the European market leader in its field, thanks to constant and continuous progress.

Aim of the acquisition

With this deal, both logistic businesses continue to depend on the expertise of  ParcelParcel’s employees. Existing clients of the Dutch shipping platform will continue to receive the same ‘high’ standard of service and will profit from the expanded network.

Mark Winkelmann, CEO and founder of LetMeShip, says, “For some time, we have been on the lookout for suitable cooperation partners with whom we can expand the service portfolio of ITA Consulting Group.”

“With ParcelParcel we’re delighted to have found a company where our respective corporate cultures really match each other. We welcome all the new colleagues and customers to the ITA Consulting Group,” adds Winkelmann.

ITA Consulting Group claims to have witnessed an increase in demand for foreign B2B shipping options. This has been pushed in part by the fragility of global supply networks, which has increased demand for time-critical and highly flexible shipping options.

As a result of this expansion, the Hamburg-based company has increased its staff significantly in recent years, and employs more than 130 people across seven countries, including Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and Austria.

Also, with the acquisition of ParcelParcel, the multi-carrier logistics expert strengthens its place in the European market while also expanding its service offering to include customised solutions for B2C needs.
