Lokalist: Connecting farmers and food producers
Lokalist is an online platform that connects local farmers and food producers directly with consumers and businesses.
“We built a company that really wanted to make the short chain work: fairer for the farmer and food maker, closer to the customer and better for the world. From conviction, entrepreneurship and with a team that went for it every day with passion,” says Paul van Straaten and Richard Nederlof, co-founders of Lokalist.
The company was created to make the short food chain fairer for farmers and food producers, while connecting them with consumers and helping the planet.
Lokalist brings together local producers, customers, and partners who support a more transparent and community-focused way of sourcing food.
Earlier this year, Rabobank invested in the Dutch company as part of its vision for sustainable agriculture and innovation.
“The fact that it’s no longer possible to continue Lokalist hurts us,” the founding duo adds. “But we remain thankful for everyone who helped build, think, and participate with us.”
