London-based Unravel, a company using AI for video-based travel commerce, has raised $7M (nearly €6.38M) in a Series A round of funding.
The investment round was led by Nauta Capital, a European B2B software investor, with contributions from Active Partners, Slingshot Ventures, and Olivier Bisserier, former CFO of Booking.com.
Other participants include Antler, Nodes, Upscalers, Brook Bay Capital, and The Players Fund, which is backed by athletes Ben Stokes, KL Rahul, and Jessica Ennis-Hill. Several previous investors also joined this round.
KL Rahul, Indian cricketer and Unravel investor via The Players Fund, says, “As someone who has travelled throughout my life and my career, I’m well aware of the limitations of the discovery and booking process. By adding video and AI into that process, Unravel has created something which could be the future and presents a huge opportunity. I’m really excited to see how the company progresses on its journey!”
Olivier Bisserier, Former CFO of Booking.com, adds, “I’ve been advising the leadership team of Unravel for over a year now. I’ve seen their vision, and their execution and I believe what they’re building is truly the future of travel. That’s why I’ve invested.”
Turning creator content into travel bookings
Travelers often find inspiration through video content on platforms like Instagram Reels and TikTok rather than traditional search methods. Unravel uses AI to connect these videos with booking options.
The company provides a video commerce platform that allows banks, airlines, fintechs, and telcos to convert travel content into direct transactions.
Vijay Anand, CEO and co-founder of Unravel, says, “The way people discover travel has changed. They don’t sift through endless search results—they get inspired by creators who are exploring the world and sharing their experiences. Unravel bridges that gap, turning creator-shot videos into seamless, AI-powered booking experiences.”
Unravel collaborates with influential travel content creators to provide video-based experiences that inspire travellers. The platform integrates travel booking into its apps and services. Users can book experiences, such as luxury accommodations or local markets, directly through these platforms.
Companies in banking, aviation, telecom, and insurance are incorporating travel services to increase revenue and customer engagement.
Currently, Unravel’s platform is used in Asia and the Middle East, with ongoing expansion into Europe and the UK. Customers have reported a fourfold increase in daily active users and a tenfold increase in conversion rates on their applications.
Capital utilisation
Unravel will use the proceeds to improve AI capabilities for video-commerce conversions and grow its London-based team. The company is hiring specialists in AI/ML, enterprise partnerships, and digital commerce.
Recruitment efforts target professionals from travel tech, banking, and AI-driven commerce to support global expansion.
Carles Ferrer, General Partner at Nauta, says, “The rise of TikTok has had a massive influence on the way people experience content on mobile. That change has happened in parallel with banks, insurers and telcos adding travel to their list of perks or products offered to customers.”
“Unravel has combined both of these market changes, with the addition of an AI booking assistant, to produce an incredibly popular white-label solution for customers looking to add new revenue streams.”
Ferrer adds, “Now the team is looking to expand across Europe and all of us at Nauta are so excited to support that journey.”
