London-based Watergate, a water tech company dedicated to combating water leaks and promoting conservation, has raised £735,687 (approximately €848,504) through crowdfunding from more than 400 investors.
This marks the largest-ever water-tech crowdfunding campaign on Republic Europe.
This funding is part of a £2M (approximately €2.3M) Pre-Series A round that is almost finished and involves several strategic investors, claims the company.

The company is planning to utilise the funds to expand its direct-to-consumer presence and accelerate adoption in property portfolios across the UK and Europe.
Additionally, the company is preparing to launch in the US by leveraging connections made through the BREW Accelerator in Milwaukee and GROW London in Los Angeles.
The capital will also help the company to innovate and integrate with other smart water tools and platforms.
“This campaign wasn’t just about raising capital – it was about building a community of believers. You’ve helped us validate our mission and our model, and now we’re more energised than ever to deliver,” says Krystian Zajac, CEO of Watergate. “To everyone who invested, cheered us on, shared the campaign, or helped behind the scenes: thank you. You’ve given us the fuel to grow faster, go further, and keep saving water – property by property.”
Every single day, over 3 billion litres of water are lost to leaks in England and Wales alone. The company also believes that climate pressures and ageing infrastructure are making the problem worse.
Watergate: Help save water
Led by Krystian Zajac, Watergate is on a mission to help save water.
Watergate assists businesses, utilities, and homeowners in preventing costly leaks, reducing water consumption, and lowering their carbon footprint.
Their system features the Sonic Smart Stopcock along with a suite of apps and enterprise software, all powered by AI data analysis.
The company’s tool can detect abnormal water usage throughout a property, notify users via a companion app, and even shut off the water to prevent potential damage.
The company has partnered with landlords like Greystar, London Square, Hestia and identified up to 68 per cent water savings in large buildings.
“We’re beyond grateful to everyone who got behind Watergate – from our earliest believers to those who joined in the final days. You’ve backed not just a company, but a mission,” says Krystian.
