Helsinki-based Measurlabs, a company that provides laboratory analysis and testing services to help researchers, quality assurance, and R&D professionals, announced on Friday that it has raised €2.5M in a seed round of funding.
The round was led by VentureFriends and joined by existing investors Lifeline Ventures, Tesi, and Curus.
Apostolos Apostolakis, partner at VentureFriends, says, “We are excited to join Teemu, Kalle, and the wider Measurlabs team on their journey to significantly improve laboratory testing services management and achieve lower costs and time-to-market for products.”
“With increasing regulation and demand for end-customer safety, the team is tapping into a growing need for modern testing services,” adds Apostolakis.
“All measurements from the same place”
Founded in 2017 by Teemu Myllymäki and Kalle Lagerblom, Measurlabs is an online platform with a mission to simplify the testing and analysis process for product developers, quality controllers, and researchers.
Myllymäki explains, “Finding a testing services provider that can perform the required tests and offer expert help is challenging.”
“Requesting offers from several laboratories, dealing with poor communication, or waiting for delayed results causes inefficiencies in product development and quality management, is a waste of time and money, and interferes with project workflows,” Myllymäki adds.
This is where Measurlabs looks to make a difference. The company brings together a network of over 900 laboratories, allowing companies to access a wide range of testing services in one place.
Measurlabs aims to help users save time and money by offering complete testing options, expert support, and potential cost savings on analysis.
The company, initially successful in Finland, has expanded globally, serving customers from nearly 40 countries. Its clients include sustainability industry leaders such as Sulapac, Woodio, and Kone.
Myllymäki adds, “Our clients are prominent companies that have been excited to finally find an easy solution for their pressing testing and analysis needs. Our clients have specifically thanked Measurlabs’ range of testing methods, digital purchasing platform, and customer support from top experts in different testing fields.”
Capital utilisation
Measurlabs says it will use the funds to scale its operations across Europe and further develop its logistics and purchasing platform. It plans to expand its presence, starting with the UK, by establishing local teams.
Additionally, the company is also focusing on improving its online platform by introducing in-platform payment options, aiming to enhance user convenience and facilitate growth.
