Amsterdam’s unicorn Mews makes its 12th acquisition; acquires Auckland-based Clarity Hospitality Software Solutions

On Tuesday, Amsterdam-based Mews, a hospitality technology company, announced that it has acquired Auckland-based Clarity Hospitality Software Solutions.

A brief Clarity Hospitality Software Solutions

Founded in 1992, Clarity Hospitality Software Solutions provides property and event management systems to upmarket properties and hotels.

Clarity customers include Hotel Management Groups, Exclusive Resorts and Independent hotels. 

Customers include Capstone, CPG, Brooke Serene, Bespoke, Peel Hotels management groups, Solitaire, Treetops, Kinloch and Delamore Lodges (New Zealand), Voli Voli resort (Fiji), Amanaki and St Therese Resorts (Samoa), Mar Hall, Craigellachie, Nailcote Hall, Carnoustie Golf Hotel and Spa (UK), as well as many independent hotels. 

In 2016, Clarity opened its office in the UK and now serves hundreds of hotel groups, event venues, and independent hotels across APAC and the UK.

The company manages thousands of hotel rooms and remains profitable.

Many hotels in APAC and the UK currently use the Amsterdam company’s solution.

In the past year, Mews has seen significant growth, reaching a valuation of over $1B, growing its global hospitality staff users to more than 75,000.

Additionally, the Amsterdam unicorn has increased its customer base in the UK by 42 per cent and in APAC by 16 per cent.

The announcement comes around two months after acquiring Gothenburg-based Atomize, a Revenue Management Software (RMS) provider.

Clarity Hospitality Software Solutions marks the 12th acquisition for Mews.

Mews: Streamlining hotel operations

Mews has developed Mews Hospitality Cloud to streamline operations for modern hoteliers, transform the guest experience, and create more profitable businesses.

The company’s clients include BWH Hotels, Strawberry, The Social Hub and Airelles Collection.

The company claims to have over 5,500 customers across more than 85 countries. It has raised $335M from investors, including Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Kinnevik, and Notion to transform hospitality.
