If successful, this investment would make Mistral AI one of the most valuable tech startups in Europe.

The announcement comes at a time when European AI companies experienced a 55 per cent increase in investment in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous year.

The Dealroom report also stated that AI is driving much of European tech investment, which dropped slightly from $13.4B (approximately €12B) in Q1 2024 to $13.2B (approximately €11.6B) in Q1 2025.

In 2024, Mistral raised €468M in an equity funding round at a €5.8B valuation.

At present, the French AI company is in the process of developing a chatbot named Le Chat, specifically designed for European users.

Additionally, Mistral AI is working on various other AI services to rival the major players from the United States and China.

Back in June, in France, Mistral AI announced that it is working with NVIDIA to build an end-to-end cloud platform powered by 18,000 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell systems in the first phase, with plans to expand across multiple sites in 2026.

This infrastructure will enable organisations across Europe to quickly develop and deploy AI using optimised Mistral AI models and validated AI factory designs, accelerating the adoption of agentic AI applications.
