Last update:

Cologne-based Mogenius, a DevOps solutions provider for cloud-native software, has secured another funding round with D11Z Ventures.

This investment increases the company’s total seed financing to €3M, up from the €2.5M secured last July with Conceptum, seed + speed Ventures, and Smart Infrastructure Ventures.

Jan Ludwig, Investment Manager at D11Z, says, “We invest in highly innovative technology startups with long-term significant growth potential. Mogenius convinced us, as they offer companies in Europe a genuine platform for modernising DevOps with their solution. The demand is already high today and will increase rapidly in the future.”

The growing use of cloud and hybrid infrastructures has made software operations more complex. Companies rely on expertise and manual support to manage this challenge. Mogenius automates cloud-native software operations to streamline development teams’ processes.

Capital utilisation

Mogenius will use the funds to expand its European partner network and develop a solution that includes monitoring, observability, and AI features.

Gerrit Schumann, CEO of Mogenius, says, “We are very pleased to have gained another investor for the financing round with D11Z Ventures. D11Z, with its long-term focus on digitalisation, cloud, and AI, fits very well with our vision of making the use of cloud-native technologies more economical for companies.”

“D11Z will actively support Mogenius in its growth with its broad network in the European tech scene and its expertise in the area of cloud technologies.”

Empowering developers to self-serve on Kubernetes

Mogenius was founded in 2021 by Behrang Alavi, Benedikt Iltisberger, Herbert Möckel, Jan Lekspy, and Gerrit Schumann to support software teams in developing and operating cloud-native software.

Mogenius states that developers and DevOps teams dedicate a large portion of their work to handling infrastructure and administrative responsibilities. The company’s Kubernetes manager simplifies the process of integrating developers into the system, allowing them to more efficiently oversee and control Kubernetes resources.

Kubernetes workspaces allow teams to group and manage resources, access key metrics and logs, and resolve issues with self-service functions. This reduces manual steps, lowers support effort, and improves operational security while saving teams time in error identification and resolution.

Additionally, teams can save up to 60 per cent of their time in identifying and resolving errors.
