Brussels-based Loyaltek Group, a company with deep expertise in the field of electronic terminals, payment, and loyalty cards, along with partners Mooncard and Visa has taken a giant leap for fintechs.
Orchestrated by Mooncard CEO Tristan Leteurte, a Loyaltek Group terminal was launched into space where it received and processed a €45 transaction to independent hotel Saint-Sauveur Hotel (Blankenberge, BE).
Three of Loyaltek’s companies – Paynovate, LoyalPay, and Fintronik – were part of this space mission.
Mooncard is a corporate payment card that automates the management of expense claims and business expenses.
Details about this transaction
According to a statement by the company, the transaction happened 37,074 kilometers above Earth with collaboration between England’s stratospheric launch experts Sent Into Space and Loyaltek’s terminals specialist LoyalPay.
Based in Sheffield, UK, Sent Into Space are the Near Space launch experts, working to deliver unique marketing/advertising campaigns set in the backdrop of space.
