Last update:

Rotterdam-based Dockbite, a digital innovation and custom software developer, announced on Friday, December 2, that it has now become a part of the Dutch company MyBit Group.

Dockbite says it will join an organisation that specialises in various custom software hubs, and is forming a strong group through a buy-and-build strategy, thereby strengthening the Dutch software development sector.

What does Dockbite offer?

Founded in 2006, Dockbite builds online solutions for companies using smart development tools and artificial intelligence. “Our tools give you an indispensable insight into your data. Smart apps and dashboards that give you a head start on the market, regardless of your industry,” says the company.

Dockbite works with Angular, Node.js, three.js, Ionic, StrongLoop, Mongo, Hadoop, SQL, and Outsystems. The company also has experience in integrations with (custom) systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, Exact, Afas, Accountview, and EasyFlex.

With this acquisition, the Dockbite founders, Jasper de Leuw and Jasper Weeteling, will continue to play a key role in the company’s expansion. As Managing Director, Jasper Weeteling will continue to be in charge of Dockbite. Weeteling will also be involved in the MyBit Group’s integrated proposition as well as its marketing strategy.

Aim of the acquisition

According to MyBit Group, the addition of Dockbite increases both organisations’ capabilities in terms of digital strategy, consulting, innovation, and the creation of custom software, as well as in luring and educating fresh talent to handle challenging projects for their clients.

Jasper Weeteling says, “With the strength of the Mybit Group and the involvement of Vortex Capital Partners, I see opportunities to serve the increasing demand for complex custom software solutions even better to Dockbite’s clients. In addition, I get a lot of energy from the joint ambition that I share with Marcel Flipse (CEO of the MyBit Group) and look forward to continuing to build a good software partner on a larger scale. Dockbite, player for exploration, AI and custom software, will be further expanded as a strategic Mybit Group hub in Rotterdam, something that fits in with my strategy for Dockbite.”

Marcel Flipse, CEO of the MyBit Group, adds, “With the connection of Dockbite, the MyBit Group is establishing itself in Rotterdam. We see Dockbite as an innovative company that can continue to grow as a hub in the Rotterdam area under the wings of the MyBit Group. We also welcome the innovative power of Dockbite to the ranks of the MyBit Group and look forward to working with Dockbite with enthusiasm.”
