Baar, Switzerland-based Albatross, an AI personalisation startup, announced on Wednesday that it has secured €3M in a fresh funding round led by redalpine, with participation from Daphni.
The Swiss company will use the funds to transform user engagement across e-commerce, media, and online marketplaces with AI-driven personalisation, enabling conversions and revenue growth for businesses.
“Users want to be inspired and guided in their discovery journey,” says Dr. Kevin Kahn, CEO.
“Most recommendation systems react to user intent, but this approach falls short in a world where catalogs and user interests evolve rapidly. To make things worse, traditional technologies over-focus on popular items, leaving most catalogs undiscovered and leading to user fatigue.”
Our platform ensures fresh recommendations, dynamically matching users with the right products and at the right time,” adds Kahn.
Albatross: Driving AI personalisation
Founded by former Amazon leaders in AI, Dr. Kevin Kahn, Dr. Matteo Ruffini, and Johan Boissard, Albatross helps businesses provide real-time user experiences through next-generation AI-driven personalisation.
The company uses AI to create engaging user journeys that adapt in real time based on each user interaction. It includes recommending the right product and determining how it’s presented, such as the image or title.
Similar to YouTube and Spotify, Albatross helps users discover personalised content without invasive tracking.
As a result, it drives engagement, boosts conversions, and recaptures missed revenue, directly impacting business performance.
The platform replaces manual A/B testing with automated, real-time optimisation powered by deep learning, multi-armed bandits (MABs), and reinforcement learning.
This allows businesses to generate, orchestrate, and present engaging experiences that resonate with each user, recapturing otherwise lost revenue.
Currently, the company serves industries across eCommerce, online travel, and marketplaces.
Gilles Despas, CEO of Bark.com and an investor in Albatross, commented: “Personalization is a game-changer, and Albatross is uniquely positioned to disrupt the market with their scalable, AI-driven approach.”
