The Hague, The Netherlands-based Main Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in growth-stage companies through buyouts, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired a majority stake in Dutch-based Bizzdesign, a global Enterprise Architecture software company.

Pieter van Bodegraven, Managing Partner Benelux at Main Capital, says, “We have known the founders and management team of Bizzdesign for several years and have been consistently impressed by their performance. Bizzdesign is a software provider in the Enterprise Architecture market, which has been rapidly expanding in recent years. About Main Capital Partners

Main Capital is a software investor in the Benelux, DACH and the Nordics. The firm carries nearly 20 years of experience in strengthening software companies and works closely with the management teams of its portfolio companies as a strategic partner to realise sustainable growth and build ‘excellent’ software groups.

The Dutch company employs over 50 employees and has offices in The Hague, Stockholm and Düsseldorf. As of October, 2021, the firm has over €2.2B in assets under management. Main Capital claims to have invested in more than 130 software companies to date, and these companies have created jobs for approx 5,000 employees.

How will Main Capital help Bizzdesign?

Bizzdesign will now strive to expand its product portfolio offering, supported by Main Capital’s worldwide software experience, to allow customers to achieve quick time to value for their business transformation efforts.

Bizzdesign and Main Capital will also work together to boost the company’s already “impressive” growth trajectory. The expansion and delivery of its product portfolio and roadmap, as well as smart add-on acquisitions with a requirement for worldwide development, will all be part of this plan.

Hugo Ehrnreich, CEO of Bizzdesign, says, “We’re proud of how we’ve consolidated and expanded our global leadership position over the last five years. We’re therefore delighted to partner with Main to accelerate this path to ‘next-level value’ and strengthen our product offering and innovation, geographic footprint and global strategic partner network through selected strategic add-on acquisitions.”

Enterprise Architecture software

Founded in 2000, Bizzdesign is a SaaS Enterprise Architecture platform that claims to help organisations with the success of investment prioritisation, transformation initiatives, and risk management. The company believes that success should not be a matter of luck, it should be by design.

Bizzdesign assists businesses with difficult digital business transformations by providing insights that help them improve business transformation success rates and enhance strategic execution.

The company’s flagship platform, Bizzdesign Horizzon, brings together strategy, IT architecture, operating models, data, capabilities, change portfolios, and ideas into a single collaborative business design platform. Real-time visibility of key metrics and trends allows customers to take action quickly.

Bizzdesign’s growth has accelerated over the years, fuelled by its customer-centric vision, relevant product offerings, talented employees, and dedicated global partner system. Currently, the company has operating offices in Boston (US), London (UK), and Gronau (Germany).

Dr Harmen van den Berg, co-founder of Bizzdesign, says, “Over the past 22 years, Bizzdesign has grown from a small Dutch R&D startup to a Global Leader in Enterprise Architecture and we’re partnering with some of the largest private and public organisations in the world. As founders, we’re proud to welcome Main as co-investors to the Bizzdesign family. It was critical for us to find the right partner with the right cultural fit and a strong expert team to support us in scaling further while ensuring continuity for our customers and our team.”

With more than 350 customers globally, Bizzdesign says it has a strong customer presence in the financial services and public sectors. The company counts many blue-chip giants amongst its global base, including Desjardins Technology Group, Maersk, T-Mobile, and ASML. It also has direct operations in EMEA and North America, and recently expanded to the Asia-Pacific region with a presence in Australia.
