Utrecht-based Orbisk, a scale-up that aims to reduce food waste, announced the appointment of Anastasia Dellis as its latest Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Anastasia Dellis is an experienced leader with a focus on strategic and people-centric management.

With over 17 years in corporate and scale-up environments, she has a background in developing brands and building effective teams.

“I’m grateful to the Orbisk team, our customers and partners, and especially to Olaf, together with co-founders Bart and Richard, who have turned a bold vision into something with real, measurable impact. Their leadership, and the extraordinary team around them, built the foundation we now have the opportunity to scale,” says Anastasia in a LinkedIn post.

With over two decades of experience leading purpose-driven organisations, Anastasia brings both expertise and passion to navigate the Dutch company into its next phase of growth and impact.

Olaf as Chief Impact & Innovation Officer

Co-founder Olaf van der Veen, who has served as CEO for the past seven years, will take on the new position of Chief Impact & Innovation Officer.

“Olaf’s leadership as CEO has shaped both the trajectory and the spirit of Orbisk. I’m grateful he’ll continue contributing as we build the next chapter together. His impact sets a high bar, one I’ll work to honour and evolve with focus and care,” she adds.

In this role, Olaf will continue to contribute to the company’s long-term mission alongside co-founders Bart van Arnhem and Richard Beks.

Last year, the Dutch company raised €8M in an oversubscribed Series A VC investment in December.

Orbisk: Creating a sustainable food system through AI

Founded by Olaf van der Veen, Richard Beks, and Bart van Arnhem, Orbisk’s mission is to create a more sustainable food system.

With its AI food waste monitor, ‘the Orbi’, they enable food-service operators such as hotels, catering services, cruise ships, and restaurants to reduce their food waste through process optimisation.

The Orbi supports the optimisation of professional kitchen processes and the improvement of food efficiency by registering food waste and identifying the operational causes of waste.

The collected data is presented in a dashboard, which offers actionable advice for process optimisations.

The company has further strengthened its position in the USA market through a partnership with Carnival Cruise Line, the world’s largest cruise operator.

Following a successful pilot, the innovative Orbi systems will be deployed on select Carnival ships in 2025.

Additionally, Orbisk has partnered with Accor to reduce food waste by 60 per cent by 2030 in their hotels, surpassing the United Nations’ goals.

Currently, Orbisk operates in over 40 countries worldwide, assisting chefs on five different continents in optimising their kitchen processes.
