Paris-based Wakeo, a provider of real-time supply chain visibility solutions, announced on Thursday that it has acquired Veroo Software, a platform specialising in road transportation management and predictive analytics.

Veroo, which was initially created within the WALTER GROUP and is used by the transportation company LKW WALTER, has claimed to handle more than 1.7M full truckload shipments on an annual basis.

The reason behind Veroo’s acquisition

By incorporating Veroo Software’s technology, Wakeo aims to enhance its ability to quickly and effectively monitor road visibility, giving its clients a significant competitive edge.

“Integrating Veroo’s software will enable Wakeo to accelerate our road visibility capabilities, both for full road and pre/on carriage legs of multimodal flows and offer a more integrated solution to our customers,” says Julien Cote, co-founder and CEO of Wakeo to Silicon Canals.

Enhancing full road and multimodal logistics operations

According to Julien Cote, Veroo’s software boasts the highest telematics coverage in Europe, providing a robust and neutral platform for real-time tracking of all road transport flows.

“By integrating Veroo’s software Wakeo will be able to achieve a much faster implementation of new full road or multimodal projects, including road transport flows,” adds Cote.

The French company has consistently differentiated itself through its “Multimodal DNA” and proven capabilities in providing high estimated time of arrival (ETA) accuracy on intercontinental door-to-door multimodal flows.

“We will now strengthen our capabilities of full road shipments which had not been our focus so far,” reveals Cote.

Maximising benefits through the integration process

To ensure a smooth transition and seamless integration process, Wakeo will rely on Veroo and LKW WALTER teams.

This collaborative approach will facilitate a streamlined knowledge transfer, enabling Wakeo to maximise the benefits of the acquired technology for both its current and prospective customers, explains Cote to Silicon Canals.

“Moreover, we are already delivering road visibility projects to many customers so the field is not at all new to our teams,” he adds.

This acquisition aligns with Wakeo’s vision for the next three to five years and strengthens its capabilities in road transportation.

“This adds a powerful layer of data and analytics to Wakeo’s existing offering, providing customers with even more comprehensive insights for their supply chain,” he adds.

Furthermore, LKW WALTER’s strong presence in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) presents a significant growth opportunity for Wakeo.

“LKW WALTER is proud to have developed a completely neutral digital solution with Veroo. This acquisition is a tremendous opportunity to further advance supply chain visibility technology. We believe that Wakeo’s innovative approach and robust platform will take transport visibility to the next level, benefiting a wider range of customers and industries,” says Vincent Beaufils, Chief Digital Officer of LKW WALTER.

Wakeo: Turns the supply chain from reactive to predictive

Wakeo provides a SaaS platform to bring real-time visibility on B2B multimodal transport flows (sea, air, rail, and road).

By leveraging intelligent analytics and predictive capabilities, the solution helps shippers, freight forwarders, and carriers improve customer experience, anticipate delays, and objectify performance

The company operates transport flows in over 180 countries and is trusted by leading shippers from various industries, such as Uniqlo, Michelin, Corteva, Forvia, Hilti, B. Braun, Huntsman, Majid Al Futtaim as well as renowned global freight forwarders such as Ceva Logistics, Rhenus Logistics, Blue Water Shipping, Berger Logistik, Hartrodt and Fracht group.

“We are thrilled about the acquisition of Veroo Software. This marks a significant milestone in our mission to deliver the most comprehensive and advanced supply chain visibility solutions. Combining our technologies will unlock new potentials for our customers, driving efficiency and innovation in their logistics operations,” says Julien Cote, CEO at Wakeo.
