Vincent Hulshoff, CEO and co-founder of Amsterdam-based Productpine, announced today that he is stepping down from his role. After nearly six years of dedication and growth, Hulshoff has made the decision to leave the company he co-founded.
Reflecting on his time at Productpine, Hulshoff described the experience as “an incredible journey beyond anything I could have imagined.”
As a founder, he played a role in shaping the company, overseeing everything from sales and marketing to product development and fundraising, securing almost €7M across multiple funding rounds.
Since its inception, Productpine has evolved remarkably, transitioning from a retail-as-a-service platform in 2019 to a shopping marketplace dedicated to sustainable shopping.
“The entrepreneurial journey is full of ups and downs, but I’m so proud of all our accomplishments—from creating the marketplace technology to onboarding hundreds of sellers and closing partnerships to invest in local sustainability projects with every order, as well as, on a personal level, receiving the Forbes 30 Under 30 recognition,” says Hulshoff in a LinkedIn post.
While there is never an ideal time to step away, Hulshoff emphasised that the moment feels right for him to focus on his personal goals. “I am deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey—our team, our investors, all our sellers, every customer making a positive impact with their purchase, as well as all other supporters,” he stated.
“It’s been a journey full of learnings, challenges, and rewards, and I’m truly grateful for the ride.”
Brief about Productpine
Founded in 2019 by Camiel van Dooren, Vincent Hulshoff and Dimitar Maslarov, Productpine provides a direct-to-consumer channel with an aim to help brands sell their products directly to consumers.
This direct interaction with consumers has various benefits. Brands can generate higher margins, remain in full control of their brands and have access to valuable insights about customers’ preferences. Until now, a lot of brands have advertised via Facebook and Google, which is costly – advertisement fees are increasing by 90 per cent annually.
Productpine claims that it helps brands to collaborate through its platform and share advertising costs, which results in savings of up to 75 per cent.
