Oslo-based Riff (formerly Databutton), the vibe coding platform, has secured €14M in Series A funding, bringing its total raised to $21M (approximately €18M).
The round is led by Northzone, with backing from existing investors Skyfall Ventures and Maki.vc, Sondo Capital, and Global Founders Capital.
Northzone is a global venture capital fund with experience in many economic and technological changes. The fund has raised over ten times, including more than $1.2B.
It has invested in over 175 companies, including well-known ones like Trustpilot, Spotify, Klarna, iZettle, Kahoot!, Personio, TrueLayer, and Spring Health.
Michiel Kotting, partner at Northzone, says, “Vibe coding is ushering in a transformational shift in software development, where anyone can create, launch, and maintain applications without having to code. What makes RIff special in our mind is the relentless focus on providing doers with the ability to build tooling that works in production. We’re excited to be joining Trygve, Martin, and Viral on their journey to create the last mile of transmitting the incredible power of AI to real business impact for everyday users.”
Additionally, the Norwegian company also got backing from Illusian (led by Supercell founder Ilkka Paananen).
Customisable automations, native integrations and more
In addition to funding, the company has introduced several new features, including fully customisable automations created by AI agents that can handle various tasks, such as data synchronisation, alerts, and AI workflows.
The platform now offers native integrations with core SaaS tools, allowing for one-click connections to applications like HubSpot, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Mixpanel, Stripe, Notion, and more.
Additionally, there are more autonomous agents working in the background, which enable users to operate directly from their phones, implement changes, and receive notifications when tasks are completed.
Lastly, the new domain whitelisting for app authentication is designed for internal applications, ensuring that your apps remain securely accessible to your team and organisation.
Riff: Vibe coding platform
At present, most vibe coding platforms enable early experimentation, but not real data complexity or production deployment.
Here’s where Riff comes into play!
Founded by Trygve Karper (CEO), Martin Røed (CTO), and Viral Shah (CPO), Riff is a vibe coding platform enabling companies to self-launch AI applications.
The founders previously worked across engineering and product teams at Cognite, Norway’s first unicorn.
The Norwegian company enables non-technical users, from SMB owners to operators in large companies, to build complex, data-heavy applications with templates, expert guidance, and proven playbooks.
The platform enhances vibe coding through access to proven templates, starter apps, and expert guidance to ensure successful deployment and implementation.
Through this platform, users can create real internal apps that boost revenue and cut costs.
Users can start with pre-built apps, connect easily with integrations, and customise solutions like apps, agents, and automations, all without needing big IT teams.
Currently, more than 150,000 users have adopted Riff’s latest version.
Companies such as Twilio and Cognite are utilising the platform to optimise internal operations in manufacturing, financial services, logistics, healthcare, and consumer goods.
The team also includes Andrzej Golebiowski, former Cognite COO, and Jack Chen, former VP Growth at Builder.ai.
