Rob de Heus, a prominent venture capitalist and the owner of DHG Communications Network BV, an independent investment firm, passed away on December 12, 2024.
Rob de Heus’ family announced the news through a LinkedIn post.
A public farewell service will take place on Tuesday, December 17, at 1 PM at the funeral home located at Johannes Poststraat 26 in Hoorn.

Rob de Heus was known in the venture capital sector for his ability to think outside the box and identify promising opportunities.
He founded DHG Communications Network BV in 1999, aiming to create a no-nonsense, independent investment firm that provides capital and personal experience.
De Heus worked closely with prominent global investment funds, including Golden Gate Ventures, 500 Startups, YL Ventures, and Peak Capital.
Rob de Heus started his first company in the early 1980s. Since then, he has made a wide variety of investments, including in a market research company, a direct marketing company, an internet consultancy, and a direct response media company.
He was involved in launching several companies, including Catawiki, Europe’s fastest-growing online auction house, and Scoot Media, a Dutch marketing firm later acquired by European Directories.
His international investments, such as BlazeMeter, RedMart, and Hexadite, reinforced his global influence.
Beyond his business achievements, Rob de Heus was a member of Peak Capital and HenQ Invest’s investment committees, actively supporting innovative Dutch companies.
His dedication extended to the healthcare sector, joining Healthy Capital to propel technological advancements aimed at improving health and care services.
