Last update:

Paris-based RockFi, a new private wealth management, announced that it has secured €3M in funding led by Varsity I, and initiated by Didier Valet, former Deputy CEO of Societe Generale.

The investment also saw participation from tech and private management business angels such as Antoine Freysz (from Kerala), Quentin Nickmans and Amaury Sepulchre (from Hexa), and Alexandre Dalyac (founder of Tractable).

RockFi will use the funds to triple its workforce, which currently has 15 employees, by the year-end, expanding its team of private bankers and wealth management experts to cover all of France.

What does RockFi aim to achieve?

RockFi is a fintech company transforming private wealth management by leveraging a network of private bankers and wealth managers and the technological development of its back- and middle-office.

The firm is led by CEO Pierre Marin, formerly of McKinsey, and includes tech co-founders Maxime Durand, CTO, ex-Qonto developer, and Marie Bedu, COO, former Beanstock Operations Director.

The firm also includes private banking experts, including Stéphane Carles, formerly of Société Générale Private Banking and Vincent Pagny, formerly of HSBC Private Management.

Registered with ORIAS as an insurance broker and financial investment advisor, RockFi operates under the supervision of the Prudential Control Authority and Resolution (ACPR) and the Financial Markets Authority (AMF). The firm is also a member of Anacofi.

RockFi offers a specialised suite of tech tools and investment choices that enhance both managers’ performance and client experiences. By empowering private managers with technology, RockFi offers “better quality” service, turning clients into ambassadors for the company.

A comprehensive wealth management solution

RockFi offers a comprehensive wealth management solution based on three pillars: trust, prestige, and simplicity. Clients benefit from managers from institutions, ensuring objective and long-term advice.

They also have access to “high-end” products such as life insurance, managed account services, private equity, and club deals. Additionally, RockFi claims to simplify the client experience through digital tools, making it easy to manage subscriptions, monitor performance, and receive personalised advice.

RockFi targets a large audience of individuals in France with assets over €100,000 who are seeking alternatives to traditional private banking. Its model prioritises transparency through a clear fee system and annual subscription for advice and personalised services like wealth engineering and taxation guidance.

Marie Bedu says, “We are in a trust-based industry where personal intuition is the primary criterion highlighted by our clients; we develop technology to serve humans to simplify and strengthen this key relationship with our clients.”

RockFi’s recent growth and development

RockFi reports that it has achieved milestones, including establishing an ecosystem of 10 independent bankers and wealth advisors managing €2B in assets from their previous institutions.

They’ve also curated a catalogue of over 3,000 financial products through partnerships with investment firms like Edmond de Rothschild, Lazard, Generali, Eurazeo, and BlackRock.

Additionally, RockFi holds all necessary licenses, including CIF, insurance, and credit brokerage COBSP, approved by regulatory bodies such as the AMF, ORIAS, and ACPR.

Co-founder Marin says, “Since the beginning of the year, we have seen strong client traction eager for a new model to manage their wealth. With a market of €4.8T in assets ahead of us and no tech leader yet in France and Europe, our ambition is very high for the coming years.”
