Valencia-based Sesame HR has entered into a financing agreement worth up to €50M with BBVA Spark.

Sesame HR will use the funds to support its international expansion and reinforce its position in the market. The funds will be directed toward strengthening operations in Spain, Italy, and Portugal, while opening new markets in France and Germany.

The company will also use the financing to accelerate growth in Mexico and Brazil, where it already serves more than 1,000 clients.

“Thanks to this funding, we will be able to concentrate our own resources on continuing to develop product and artificial intelligence, the engine that drives our vision for the future,” mentions Sesame HR.

With annual revenue exceeding €20M and a client base of more than 15,000 companies, Sesame HR aims to become a leading people management platform in Europe.

Launch of a new financial instrument in Europe

The collaboration with BBVA Spark also introduces a new financing structure within the European market. Designed for technology companies operating under a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, the model supports global growth without requiring equity dilution.

Sesame HR says, “This agreement with BBVA Spark reinforces our sustainable growth strategy and confirms that innovation lies not only in technology, but also in the way we move forward. In this way, a model has been developed in which a financial entity and a technology company work in a connected manner, sharing data and objectives to scale efficiently and responsibly.”

This approach enables Sesame HR to invest in acquiring new customers while continuing to develop its platform. The model is based on data insights and is structured for scalability across markets.

Albert Soriano, CEO of Sesame HR, says, “This new instrument is a genuine breakthrough for the European technology ecosystem. It will allow us to scale up internationally while continuing to focus on innovation in artificial intelligence applied to talent management.”

Miguel Ángel Alcalá, Head of BBVA Spark in Spain, adds, “Our value proposition is built around supporting high-growth companies that are transforming the economy through technology. We share a vision with Sesame of sustainable growth that is data-connected and people-centric.”

“This deal shows that a different way of financing growth is indeed possible. Thanks to this financial instrument, Sesame will have fast and efficient access to capital in line with the pace of its global expansion.”
