Tallinn, Estonia-based GuestJoy, an enabler of cloud-based tools to automate guest experience in hotels, announced on Tuesday that it has been acquired by Australia-based SiteMinder, one of the world’s premier open hotel e-commerce platforms.
GuestJoy has been a partner of SiteMinder since 2017.
The acquisition will be completed this year and follows the launch of SiteMinder’s next-generation all-in-one hotel commerce platform in April this year.
The platform brings channel management, distribution, and booking engine capabilities together, along with real-time industry information. It also includes features like automatic payments, website building tools, and integrations with more than 1500 third-party services – all designed to help business owners expand their operations.
What’s SiteMinder’s Play With GuestJoy?
The acquisition means that GuestJoy will be a throttler to SiteMinder’s hotel commerce offering by automating and digitising guest communication, upselling revenues, and strengthening direct guest acquisition, eventually bringing down customer acquisition costs and more profits.
Sankar Narayan, CEO and MD of SiteMinder, says that the acquisition of GuestJoy was in the pipeline for a year based on strong organic growth after SiteMinder’s IPO in 2021.
โGuestJoy is highly regarded within the hotel tech industry for its simple user experience, seamless guest communication functionalities, and integration capabilities, which are essential for the modern hotelier to deliver a winning and profitable guest experience while also optimising their booking and ancillary revenues. GuestJoy’s capability to automate and personalise guest communications will allow SiteMinder to offer a fully integrated user experience for our hoteliers, as we continue to deliver on our hotel commerce platform vision,โ he adds.
About GuestJoy
GuestJoy was founded by hospitality tech innovators Alar รlem and Annika รlem in 2014. The Property Management System from GuestJoy addresses the pain points of the industry by enabling a simple and faster route for hoteliers to communicate with their guests, increasing customer value.
Alar รlem, Co-founder of GuestJoy, says, “While you’re working hard to provide an exquisite, unforgettable experience for your guests, clunky, inefficient technology may be a major distraction. That’s why we made it a priority to make GuestJoy intuitive and simple to operate through the use of data science and robotics. As a result, we couldn’t be happier that GuestJoy will soon be a part of the SiteMinder family and continue its mission of providing hotels with smooth, unified technology.”
GuestJoy claims to have assisted hotels in digitising, customising, and automating the guest interaction experience across the board. The company was a nominee for Best Upselling Software by Hotel Tech Report in 2021.
