Paris-based Sorella, a female health startup, announced that it has closed a €5M round just one year after launching its first multidisciplinary health clinic.

The investment was led by Paris and New York-based impact investment firm blisce/ and joined by Vorwerk Ventures.

blisce/ is a certified B Corp with a commitment to social and environmental responsibility, while Vorwerk Ventures, a Berlin-based independent VC, has a track record in investing in hybrid health, focusing on the future of health, food, and climate.

Alexandre Mars, Founder and CEO of blisce/ says, “Today, 60 per cent of women are dropping out from their healthcare journey in France. This is a major public health challenge.”

“We are convinced that the pluridisciplinary approach and the hybrid model that allies physical and digital will enable Sorella to reinvent women’s health with a significant and wide impact.”

“We are excited to support the co-founders and their team in the construction of tomorrow’s way of practising medicine.”

Capital utilisation

Sorella will use the funds to enhance coordinated care, improve the digital platform, and expand the network of multidisciplinary health clinics for women. Sorella plans to open three new clinics in 2024, aiming for a total of 12 across France by 2026.

Clémence Lejeune, co-founder of Sorella, says, “This fundraising round opens a new chapter that will accelerate the development of Sorella in France – and beyond, our capacity for innovation in healthcare pathways and prevention.”

“It is a strong mark of confidence in our model and proof that our fight for the improvement of women’s health is very relevant today. The healthcare professionals who support us are also convinced of this.”

Virtual and in-person clinics for women

Founded in 2022 by Clémence Lejeune, Jeanne Theuret, and Youssef Benhaddou, Sorella is a network of multidisciplinary health spaces dedicated to women.

It provides comprehensive care pathways by specialised healthcare professionals for women of all ages, from puberty to post-menopause.

The company prioritises patients, providing a welcoming and secure environment. Care coordination, inspired by hospital practices, is facilitated through multidisciplinary meetings and the role of a dedicated care coordinator in the teams.

Sorella uses a hybrid care system with integrated technology to streamline healthcare workflows. The digital solutions enhance information sharing, offer preventive measures, and facilitate health screenings, advancing women’s health.

Katharina Neuhaus, Principal at Vorwerk Ventures, adds, “With its hybrid model, Sorella paves the way for a more holistic and transformative healthcare paradigm for women, recognising the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional well-being.”

The platform covers gynaecology, cardiology, general medicine, physiotherapy, psychology, and dietetics. Every year, a Sorella clinic can welcome up to 10,000 patients.

Dr. Alix Roquette serves as the Medical Director and Gynecologist on the team.
