During a celebratory meeting held in Delft on Thursday, March 7, Deputy Meindert Stolk presented subsidy cheques worth €3M to five innovation campuses. It includes:

  • TU Delft Campus
  • Leiden Bio Science Park
  • Biotech Campus Delft
  •  NL Space Campus
  • Erasmus MC Campus

The subsidies are provided through the multi-year subsidy program Kansen voor West, which is financed, in part, by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The main objective of this program is to enhance research and innovation capacity and to introduce advanced technologies.

Five innovation campuses in the region have received financial support: TU Delft Campus and Leiden Bio Science Park have received €900,000, while Biotech Campus Delft, NL Space Campus, and Erasmus MC Campus have each been awarded €400,000.

Finance utilisation

The financial support provided will enable campuses and campus organisations to take the next step in their development.

This will also increase the involvement of SMEs on the campuses, allowing them to play a greater role in promoting innovation and employment.

Deputy Meindert Stolk, Economy and Innovation says, “We are very happy with the Opportunities for West program. This program offers us as a province the opportunity to invest in campuses, allowing us to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, circular, and digital economy. The subsidies that I have been able to award are mainly used for further growth and development. I am certainly looking forward to visiting all campuses soon and seeing how these subsidies are used.”
