Netherlands-based Staxxer, a cloud-based software and service solution company that takes care of VAT compliance for e-commerce in Europe, announced that it has raised more than €1M in a fresh round of funding.
The investment came from the Investment and Development Agency for the Northern Netherlands (NOM), G-Force Capital, Demian Beenakker (CEO of Dwarfs), and Martijn Leenaerts (CFO of Whoppah).
Chantal Leijendekker of NOM and Niek Huizenga of G-Force Capitals say, “Staxxer offers e-commerce companies a platform for insight into all their VAT-related matters. This is a great need from the market, as VAT is a complex subject…NOM and G-Force Capital see the potential for rapid growth and international upscaling.”
Automating VAT for e-commerce
Founded in 2021 by Ties den Dekker, Peter van de Rijdt and Jurgen Nijland, Staxxer is an automated VAT solution provider that meets the needs of the e-commerce industry. By using Staxcloud, the company keeps VAT services affordable, accessible and compliant for any type of e-commerce company.
Ties den Dekker says, “With Staxxer we want to refresh and automate the dusty image of VAT administration. The hourly invoice era within this sector can also be different. After all, the software is not only more accurate in calculating VAT obligations, but automation also makes it more affordable and easier for the customer. That fits seamlessly with the needs of the e-commerce industry.”
Since the establishment of Staxxer, the company has grown rapidly. Within one year, the number of customers has increased from 50 to about 400, a growth of 700% . Since then, they have been helping e-commerce parties of all sizes, including Happy Soaps and The Good Roll, automate their VAT compliance across Europe.
Capital utilisation
Staxxer says it will use the funds to further develop its software and internationalise it. The company will expand its services next in Denmark as a kick-off.
For every e-commerce business owner to use the software, additional marketplaces and webshops will also be introduced to Staxcloud. Practical financial tools are also being created to provide insight into sales made through these channels.
In order to link to the whole administration, there is also a strong collaboration with the current accounting software.
