Stockholm-based Quartr, a platform specialised in qualitative public market research, has secured $10M (approximately €8.7M) in the latest funding round from existing investors Altos Ventures, Yanno Capital, and Öhman.

Altos Ventures is a purpose-driven investment firm that partners with founders to build enduring, world-class businesses. The firm invests in early-stage companies with strong operating fundamentals, focusing on long-term value creation and efficient use of capital.

“Quartr is exactly the kind of company we love backing – mission-driven founders building something essential with focus and a clear sense of purpose,” says Ho Nam, co-founder and general partner at Altos. “They’re delivering real value to some of the world’s most sophisticated and recognised companies, with a mindset rooted in long-term thinking and capital efficiency.”

The announcement comes as the Swedish company has achieved significant growth, with a threefold increase in annual recurring revenue (ARR) over the past year.

The company has opened new offices in New York and Dublin to better serve enterprise clients and access skilled workers in technology and sales.

There is a growing need for reliable access to first-party data from public companies, partly due to the rise of large language models (LLMs).

Currently, three of the world’s five largest hedge funds by assets under management (AUM) are clients of Quartr Pro, and two major companies are API partners.

“We’re investing faster than planned because demand has shot way above our expectations,” says Oscar Küntzel, co-founder and CEO of Quartr. “We’re grabbing market share in a multi-billion dollar industry that’s shifting fast, and the AI boom is only accelerating that.”

Quartr: Qualitative public market research

Quartr was founded by Sami Osman, August Nordström, Oliver Hamrin, Oscar Küntzel, and David Dag in 2020, who all met through the Swedish financial community on Twitter.

It is a technology company that provides a suite of products aimed at enhancing decision-making processes for businesses and financial institutions.

Its offerings include the Quartr API, which enables third parties to develop custom solutions utilising live earnings call and transcription technology, alongside a comprehensive global database of investor relations materials.

The company also offers Quartr Pro, a desktop platform tailored to improve qualitative public market research for hedge funds, asset managers, equity researchers, and investor relations professionals.

Additionally, Quartr offers a free mobile app that allows users to stay informed and conduct research conveniently, accessible at any time and from any location.

“Our rapid growth, high retention metrics, and increasing average contract values are a direct reflection of the value we’re delivering to the world’s most sophisticated companies in finance and tech,” says Oscar Küntzel.
