Successful Dutch startups SendCloud, Hotelchamp, and Bolt Mobility raise millions more (funding overview week #35)

This week has started quite well, as multiple Dutch startups successfully closed their funding rounds and launched public investment campaigns. The shipping platform SendCloud, the sales and marketing platform Hotelchamp and the AppScooter developer Bolt Mobility will be the subjects in this week’s funding overview.

SendCloud

The shipping platform for small and medium-sized webshops has announced that henQ will be joining TIIN and BOM as one of their lead investors. Together, they will have invested a total amount of 5 million euros in SendCloud during their series B funding round, increasing the total amount to approximately 7.7 million euros. The platform is based upon enabling small and medium-sized online retailers to compete with the giants of the e-commerce industry. Investor henQ sees a lot of potential in SendCloud, as they provide the still-growing amount of small and medium-sized webshops with a way to further improve their shipping process. According to henQ, already incumbent delivery companies have not been able to sufficiently serve them.

Hotelchamp

This marketing and sales platform has secured yet another 2.25 million euros on top of a previously announced amount of 1.75 million euros during their seed funding. This brings their total seed round funding to 4 million euros. The Amsterdam-based startup has stated that they will be using these investments to further drive the growth of the company and advance the leading marketing and sales platform for the hotel industry. Prominent investors involved in this round include Nalden, founder of WeTransfer and Phillippe de Knijff and Jolanda Degen of WorldTicketCenter.

Hotelchamp’s technology offers a platform for hotels to achieve better guest engagement and generates greater direct revenue. As a result, customers will be provided with a personalized booking experience. Hotelchamp has signed over 1,000 major hotels from more than 40 countries, including Meininger Hotel Group, Palazzo Versace, The Mandeville and Apex Hotels. And while it has only been around for two years, the startup already has a 50+ team of employees.

Bolt Mobility

Startup Bolt Mobility has raised well over 1 million euros during their public campaign and is still expecting to raise a couple of 100.000 euros more. over 650 different investors have bought a share of the AppScooter developer in just 10 days. While standard investments can already be made upward of 10 euros, the startup also has options for potential bigger investors. Upward of 250.000 euros, investors will earn exclusive perks like a free AppScooter Investor Edition.

Let’s talk about their product, the AppScooter. Bolt Mobility designed the product as a solution to traffic fatalities, in particular, the ones which are the result of smartphone usage. The scooter enables the rider to use handlebar controls to stream music and control calls, all the while your phone is still in your pocket. The scooter is also the first in the world to safely run Android apps, it has built-in GPS, access to 4G and makes use of electronically controlled locks. To summarize, it minimizes distractions on all fields during travel.

Interestingly enough, Bolt Mobility is the biggest mover on the entire Seedrs platform. The developer of “The Dutch Tesla on Two Wheels” has been valued to be worth 25.296.281 euros (pre-money), which is an enormous amount. Potential investors can find a link to the site here.
