Last update:

Leuven, Belgium-based Sweepatic, a cybersecurity attack surface management platform that monitors internet-facing assets to protect companies against cyberattacks, announced that it has secured a follow-up funding of €2.8M.

The company had raised €1M from eCAPITAL’s Cybersecurity Fund and eCAPITAL Technologies IV Fund in its Series A round in 2019.

Investors in this round

The fresh investment was made by TIIN Capital’s Dutch Security Tech Fund, existing investor eCAPITAL, and PMV.

Roel Reijnen, Investment Manager at Dutch Security Techfund, says, “Cyber threats increasingly disrupt our world. It is therefore important for organisations to understand their own attack surface and be aware of their exposed assets and risks. We are convinced that Sweepatic can help enterprises, governments, and service providers in solving these challenges and we are enthusiastic to be part of the journey to strengthen their leading role in Europe.”

Capital utilisation

The company says that the proceeds from this round will help it accelerate and strengthen its European leader role in External Attack Surface Management.

Speaking on the development, Founder & CEO of Sweepatic, Stijn Vande Casteele says, “We are excited to partner with PMV and cybersecurity investors like TIIN Capital and eCAPITAL on this journey. We look forward to benefiting from their experience and knowledge in our ambition to grow as an emerging technology vendor. With this new investment, Sweepatic will accelerate its go-to-market, strengthen its product innovation, and build strong relationships with customers and partners.”

Premium Attack Surface Management platform

Founded by Stijn Vande Casteele in 2016, Sweepatic is an External Attack Surface Management (EASM) platform that helps organisations to be proactive and become cyber resilient against attacks.

The platform is built around passive, non-intrusive reconnaissance techniques. It consists of stealthily gathering information, often indirectly, in a way that is unlikely to alert the subject of the surveillance.

Following its enhanced data collection, Sweepatic can identify in-depth insights and supply different outputs, for instance, threat intelligence feeds, machine-readable exports, data sets (including API), human-readable notifications, and intelligence reports, which are clear, simple, and actionable.

The company’s cloud-based platform automates the continuous mapping, monitoring, and managing of all internet-connected assets and risks and delivers attack surface observations via notifications and a dashboard. In this way, it supports organisations in structuring and reducing their external attack surface.

In 2021, Sweepatic obtained the Cybersecurity Made in Europe label, which recognises European IT security companies for their reliable and trustworthy solutions and underpins Sweepatic’s European identity. This label is granted by the European Cyber Security  Organisation, ECSO.

Some of the customers include Lineas (Logistics), Ziekenhuis Netwerk  Antwerpen (Healthcare), Reynaers Aluminium (Manufacturing), CFE (Contracting), and Sibelga (Utilities).
