Munich-based The Mobility House, a company that provides mobility energy solutions, announced on Thursday, November 3, that it has raised $50M (approximately €51.11M) in a Series C round of funding.
The round was led by Mercuria and co-led by Ventura Capital and Green Gateway Fund. Other strategic investors include Mercedes-Benz, Alliance Venture, Mitsui, and SP Group.
Green Gateway Fund’s founder, Jochen Wermuth, says, “We see The Mobility House as the leading global software platform monetising electric vehicle batteries, providing grid stability and storage services to a 100 per cent renewable energy and transport system, with the potential to save over 5 per cent of global CO2 emissions.”

The Mobility House says it will use the funds to expand its leading market position in the field of electric vehicle smart charging and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) integration across Europe, North America and Asia.
The company also mentions that its ChargePilot technology, EV aggregation and flexibility trading platform will transform mobile and stationary batteries of electric vehicles into “buffer storage” or flexibility potential for the global energy transition.
Robert Hienz, CEO of The Mobility House, says, “We are delighted about the trust that our existing investors have placed in us. In recent months, it has become increasingly clear: the market for smart charging and V2G is there and developing rapidly. It also has incredible economic and environmental potential for us to tap into. We have the technology ready to cater to and significantly shape this market, and are already well-equipped for the future continued development of our products.”
The Mobility House’s charging and energy management solutions
Founded in 2009 by Thomas Raffeiner and led by CEO Robert Hienz, The Mobility House aims to create an emissions-free energy and mobility future. To effectively integrate electric vehicles into the power grid, the company has created an “expansive” partner ecosystem, which includes electric vehicle charger makers, 1,000+ installation partners, 80+ energy providers, and automobile manufacturers like Audi and Tesla.
The intelligent Charging and Energy Management system, ChargePilot, and the underlying EV Aggregation Platform enable customers and partners to integrate electric vehicles into the grid for optimised and future-proof operations. Over 800 business installations have found success with The Mobility House’s vendor-neutral and interoperable technological approach to smart charging and energy management.
Currently, The Mobility House has more than 250 employees across its operations in Munich, Zurich and Belmont, California.
