Île de France-based ThePackengers, a company specialised in packaging and transport of works of art and collectibles, announced that it has secured €14M in fundraising.
The company was backed by its existing investors, including Transolution, Weber Investissement, and Reflexion Capital.
The company will use the funds to launch a consumer-to-consumer (C2C) mobile app in 2025 that offers quick logistics solutions for individuals and businesses focused on sustainability.
The French company is also planning to open new warehouses and logistics centres in Europe and the U.S., including a 12,000 m² automated hub at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Additionally, the company plans to upgrade its AI technology to enhance packaging and collection systems.
ThePackengers: Specialised in the packaging and transport
Founded in 2019 under the ESI transport and logistic group, ThePackengers focuses on packaging and transporting artworks, luxury items, collectibles, and vintage goods.
The company collaborates with auction houses like Drouot, galleries, antique dealers, decorators, and e-commerce platforms to ship fragile items globally from warehouses in major cities, including Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Madrid, Milan, London, New York, and Los Angeles.
“In four years, we have become a unique and essential player in the trade of objects that have already had a first life. Without original packaging, it was impossible to automatically predict the shipping cost. Our shipping prices are adapted to any type of object and any value category. Today, our technological and industrial development allows us to be 2 to 3 times cheaper than the market prices offered by traditional players while remaining profitable,” says Amaury Chaumet, president of ThePackengers
