Last update:

Paris-based Upscalers, the exclusive community for top founders, C-level executives, and VPs from leading European scale-ups and unicorns, announced recently that it has secured undisclosed funding in the pre-seed funding round.

The funds were raised from local angel investors as well as Caterina Fake, a prominent Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor. She invested through her fund, yes.vc.

The pre-seed funding will fuel Upscalers’ expansion in Europe, with plans for global connectivity among the best tech operators across continents, eying the US soon.

Since 2017, the number of tech employees in Europe has increased from 750,000 to 2.5 million, with 7.5% holding key positions.

Recognising the challenges these tech operators face in an ever-evolving industry, Upscalers has spent two years building a foundation through a 100-member exclusive community.

Upscalers: Member-only community of top operators from leading tech companies

Founded by Yoann Benhacoun CEO, and Timoteo Rouchon, COO, Upscalers connects investors with opportunities to invest in and connects founders with potential investors

The company is on a mission to create a worldwide community of tech decision-makers and to initiate meaningful relationships between members through exclusive events.

Upscalers differentiates itself with an international dimension, hosting monthly dinners in six major European cities and establishing a living, breathing cross-border society.

The community provides peer support through 6 months of Core group cohorts. Members engage in monthly calls to share challenges, learnings, and tactics for professional growth.

Members have access to exclusive speaker events where they can learn directly from top tech figures through intimate conversations, making learning a key pillar.

There are an increasing number of tech operators becoming angel investors in startups.

As a result, the platform has created an environment where investment opportunities can be openly discussed, and people can learn from a diverse range of opinions. Additionally, co-investment opportunities are available with renowned VCs.

Timoteo is in charge of the Operations and the angel investment arm, having made 16 investments in pre-seed and seed startups in Europe and the US.

The ticket size ranges from 50k to 250K, with the average check size being in the 100k+ at the moment. They are sector agnostic and investors in a portfolio comprising 40 per cent female founders backed.

Upscalers has already garnered a waiting list of 776 people, and the platform aims to gradually onboard 500 members by June. Applications are now open to secure a seat, and the community also serves companies with a B2B offering.
