Last update:

Amsterdam-based Woon Duurzaam, a cloud platform that makes homes sustainable, announced that it has raised €2.2M in a fresh round of funding from new investors Oneplanetcrowd, a crowdfunding platform, and ROM InWest. Existing investors EIT InnoEnergy and DOEN Participaties also participated in this round.

Raymond Meeuwsen of EIT InnoEnergy Benelux says, “EIT InnoEnergy aims to accelerate the energy transition. On one hand, it is about developing new technologies, and on the other, it is also about putting those innovations on the market, where they make an impact. That is exactly where the strength of WoonDuurzaam lies. Woon Duurzaam lowers the threshold for consumers to make their home gas-free in order to actively participate in the energy transition.”

Making homes more sustainable faster and easier

Woon Duurzaam says it will utilise the funds to further develop and automate its one-stop platform for home improvement, and further help expand and assist numerous other homeowners in realising their home’s energy shift.

According to EIT InnoEnergy, current energy prices in the Netherlands and the urgency to become more sustainable to achieve the Dutch climate objectives have led the demand for sustainable housing to increase exceptionally. This is where Woon Duurzaam is helping private homeowners to get individualised sustainability, and get support in the entire transformation of their homes.

With the raised financing, Woon Duurzaam’s processes can be automated to meet the growing demand, and also growing the number of gas-free and energy-neutral homes.

Brief about Woon Duurzaam

Founded in 2018 by Rense van Dijk, Woon Duurzaam claims to be the first company in the Netherlands to offer an integrated solution at a national level to get rid of gas in homes.

The company says, “We find it so important that this transition – from fossil to clean – is taken up quickly, that we have made this our mission: We ensure that everyone can make their home sustainable before 2040 without frustration.”
