Zurich-based Modulos, an AI governance platform, announced the completion of its CHF 8.7M (approximately €8.96M) in a pre-Series A funding round.

The funding round was supported by existing investors who have backed Modulos’ long-term vision since the early stages of EU AI Act development.

The investment positions the company to take advantage of the fast-growing AI governance market, as organisations worldwide prepare for compliance deadlines, particularly the EU AI Act enforcement in August 2026.

“This is just the beginning,” says Kevin Schawinski, CEO and co-founder of Modulos. “As the AI governance market scales globally, we’re building the infrastructure that will define how responsible AI gets built and deployed at enterprise scale.”

Modulos: AI governance platform

Founded in 2018, Modulos transforms AI governance from a manual compliance burden into an automated, intelligent workflow management.

“The AI governance market is moving from theoretical to mission-critical overnight,” says Kevin Schawinski, CEO and co-founder of Modulos. “Organisations can no longer treat compliance as an afterthought. Our platform gives them the infrastructure to scale responsible AI without sacrificing innovation velocity.”

The Modulos AI Governance Platform unifies compliance officers, data scientists, risk managers, and business users in a single collaborative environment, streamlining compliance with frameworks like the EU AI Act and ISO 42001.

Through its Agentic AI capabilities, the platform automates routine tasks and enables proactive risk management, helping organisations maintain continuous compliance efficiently.

As a result, Modulos helps clients avoid economic, legal, and reputational risks, fostering trust and long-term success in their AI initiatives.

Additionally, the company’s platform addresses the full spectrum of AI governance challenges:

  • Intelligent Risk Management: Automated flagging, quantification, and documentation of AI-related risks across the entire AI lifecycle
  • Multi-Framework Compliance: Single-platform adherence to EU AI Act, ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, and other emerging standards
  • AI-Powered Monitoring: Autonomous agents that adapt governance workflows as regulations evolve
  • Enterprise Integration: Seamless deployment across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments

The platform integrates across MLOps, LLMOps, and auditing infrastructures while using AI agents to monitor, adapt, and ensure alignment with evolving regulations, including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO 42001.
