From the 6th to the 10th of February 2017, University incubator ACE Venture Lab will host an intensive 5-day bootcamp. This training program is open for students, researchers as well as any industry specialists that want to turn their science or high-tech idea into a successful company. A team of Silicon Valley specialists and startup experts will be on-site to mentor participants with launching their business.
What’s in store
During the five days the Bootcamp will cover everything you can think of with regards to business creation and development. And of course you’ll learn how to turn that brilliant science or tech idea of yours into a viable business. Some of the skills you learn will include testing your business assumptions, analyzing potential challenges and making your idea appeal to investors as well as customers. The experienced mentors from ACE Venture Lab will teach you the required entrepreneurial skills and get you ready to launch your own company.
The itinerary for the program is as follows:
Monday the 6th of February: From science and technology to business
Tuesday the 7th of February: Testing your business assumptions
Wednesday the 8th of February: Customer-centric approach
Thursday the 9th of February: Business Market opportunities & Business Models
Friday the 10th of February: Presenting your business
Who can apply?
Of course this bootcamp is not open to everybody. There are a few boxes you have to tick. So these are the selection criteria:
•   You are a Master or PhD student, researcher, senior scientist or technology professional
•   You have an innovative tech or science business concept/product
•   Your team is curious, ambitious and passionate about the idea you pursue
•   You are willing to set up your business in the Amsterdam region
•   You have a potential for growth and ambition to scale up internationally
What happens next?
After the Bootcamp a selection committee will look at the progress the different participants have made during the program. A careful evaluation will take place after which one or more startups will be selected to enter a 3-month Validation program. So who know, the Bootcamp may only be the beginning.
