Eindhoven-based Alphabeats, a digital mental wellness platform, announced on Thursday that it has won the CES 2023 Innovation award and will be part of the #NLatCES mission, the Netherlands mission to CES in Las Vegas, 2023.
Alphabeats is recognised for its neurofeedback technology. The Dutch company’s training system uses music to guide athletes into flow – a mental state of deep focus characterised by alpha waves.
Ahead of the CES event, Alphabeats will undergo a training programme as a trial from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
“We are honoured to be recognised as a CES 2023 innovation award winner and humbled to be in the company of many revolutionary startups. It’s an incredible time to be working in tech, and we’re looking forward to exploring partnerships in Las Vegas this January,” says CEO Han Dirkx.
This will be the seventh time the Netherlands will participate in CES.
This year, the Netherlands will be at CES with two pavilions – the startup pavilion ‘The Netherlands Tech Square’ and the ‘Next Level Innovations Pavilion’ for scale-ups. More than 250 Dutch companies have visited CES as part of the Dutch mission.
CES, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, is the world’s most influential tech trade show, and will be held from January 5 to 8, 2023.
CES Unveiled Amsterdam
The official kick-off of the Dutch CES mission was the ‘CES Unveiled Amsterdam‘ event on October 13, 2022, at the Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam.
The CES Unveiled series offers a sneak peek of what’s in store for CES 2023, with over 100 innovative companies from all over Europe showcasing their tech solutions. Alphabeats also had a booth at the event.
In addition, the event also included keynote sessions from Gary Shapiro (CES), Ali Nikham (Bunq), and Sabine Stuiver (Hydraloop).
The event was organised in collaboration with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.
Alphabeats: What you need to know
Founded in 2019, AlphaBeats is a health tech venture that uses neurofeedback technology and a patented algorithm developed by Philips.
The company’s technology uses music to guide athletes into a flow state, a mental state of high performance characterised by alpha brainwaves. In addition, a patented algorithm and neurofeedback technology allows the app to determine a user’s stress level.
The Dutch company claims that the consistent use of its customisable training system increases alpha brainwave activity in users and delivers lasting improvements to their mental performance.
Last month, the Dutch company raised €1.5M in a Seed round led by DeepTechXL and LUMO Labs to develop its patented technology offering EEG-based mental training to improve performance in elite athletes.
“AlphaBeats users only need the app, a smartphone, and 10 minutes per day to listen to their favourite music. Introducing this new daily routine promotes excellence and mental well-being,” says the company.
