Amsterdam-based DuurzaamInvesteren.nl, an online investment platform designed for sustainable energy projects in the Netherlands, announced that it has raised €35.2M in 26 offers in the first six months of 2022. This is an increase of 53 per cent compared to 2021, where there were 17 offers, says the company.
DuurzaamInvesteren.nl is seeing growth mainly in the sustainable energy and e-mobility sectors. The company says that even with the unstable economic climate, there is still a growing interest in investing in sustainable projects.
In a recent poll, most investors showed that they are interested in companies or offers with a sustainable aspect.
“The world looks very different, with major economic changes and uncertainties. Nevertheless, the projects on our platform are successfully concluded,” explains CEO Dennis Kromhout van der Meer. “An offer has to be good, in keeping with the spirit of the times in terms of interest and duration, but sustainability is the most important thing for our investors. They want to accelerate the energy transition and contribute to the realisation of a future-proof world.”
The platform offers different types of projects in sectors like growth financing and working capital. It also has projects focused on sustainable battery innovations, with a growth capital of €3.9M.
“The electricity network is full in many places in the Netherlands, and adjustments take too long for the sustainability need. That is why investments in “off-grid solutions,” such as sustainable batteries, are of great value. These solutions accelerate the energy transition. Another example of such a battery innovation is EST-Floattech, which supplies the Amsterdam IJveer with batteries. Those who use the ferry to and from Amsterdam Noord allow themselves to be transported by a sustainable innovation. Battery storage, such as Giga Storage, is also indispensable in this chain,” continues Kromhout van der Meer.
