The Dutch tech companies raised €3.1B in venture capital investments in 2024, marking a 47 per cent increase and positioning the Netherlands as Europe’s fourth-largest startup hub.
However, the State of Dutch Tech report highlights a decline in early-stage funding, with only 104 startups securing over €100,000—a 23 per cent drop from 2023. The report suggests that increasing early-stage funding, supporting domestic growth, and improving regulations are key to addressing these issues.
Meanwhile, Amsterdam remains the leading startup hub in the Netherlands, hosting 1,219 startups, which make up 45 per cent of the national total. Despite dropping one spot in the 2024 Global Startup Ecosystem Index, the city continues to attract talent and foster startup activity.
In February 2025, Amsterdam-based startups continued to grow, securing funding and expanding their teams. This sustained momentum highlights the city’s strength as a leading startup hub. In this article, we have listed those startups that raised funds last month, with some actively hiring new talent.
