Amsterdam-based UpMarket, a virtual concierge platform, announced that it has launched officially after being selected and funded by Antler. The company didn’t disclose details about the funding.
Founded by Shani Cohen (CEO) and Antonino Bonumore (CTO), UpMarket is a software platform and ecosystem that connects short-term vacation rental guests, property managers, and local businesses to provide guest services beyond the booking experience.
Antonino Bonumore has 10+ years of experience as Senior Magento Developer with Magento Open Source and Commerce, while Shani Cohen has 20 years of working experience in the tech space across consulting and in-house.
Disrupting vacation rental
The Dutch startup helps property managers quickly set up virtual catalogues to provide guests with tailor-made services that increase guest satisfaction, boost topline revenue, and save precious time.
“We want to disrupt the way vacation rental guests discover and book ancillary services during their stay and empower local businesses to provide those services directly to the guests easily and safely,” says Cohen.
Before UpMarket, Antler has invested in several Amsterdam-based startups, including not8, Insiber, Cooper Pet Care, and more, since it entered Amsterdam in 2019.
Solving real problems
Antler is an early-stage venture capital firm that wants to create thousands of companies globally that solve ‘real’ problems.
Antler partners with people across six continents and in 25 cities to launch and scale high-potential startups that address meaningful opportunities and challenges.
Antler has invested in and helped build over 600 companies across a wide range of industries and technologies, and plans to back more than 6,000 by 2030.
