Amsterdam-based OOPKOP, a provider of mental health for working people, announced on Monday, February 21, that it has raised €1M in growth capital from business angels, including Richard Bross (NoCeiling, QBSgroup), Henri de Jong (The Sharing Group, Mijndomein, Mywheels) and Quintin Schevernels (former CEO Funda, investor in HR- Tech).
OOPKOP says it will use the funds to accelerate the development of its platform.
“Companies are facing major challenges: the war on talent, retaining and binding talent, and high absenteeism,” says Reinier de van der Schueren, co-founder of OOPKOP.
“We show that we can reduce absenteeism costs by 20 per cent and increase people’s well-being by 97 per cent. In this way, we help employees to stay mentally fit and we unburden the employer,” van der Schueren adds.
OOPKOP: Mental health platform
Founded by Derk van Haastert and Reinier de van der Schueren in 2021, OOPKOP claims to be the largest provider of mental health for working people in the Netherlands.
The platform offers an accessible marketplace with over 125 (single/large) providers in coaching, mindfulness, sleep support, breath work, retreat, and more.
Through the platform, employees can get individual, anonymous, online and offline mental health offerings via their employer through the company’s marketplace.
OOPKOP further provides support in personal intake consults, frequent mental check-ins, and weekly masterclasses.
Currently, the company works with over 25+ companies, including Team.blue, Inspark, Cargoroo, and Fronteer.
OOPKOP claims that more than 100 companies facilitate this form of benefit to their employees and more than 200 providers are connected throughout the Netherlands.
Investor Quintin Schevernels says, “The mental health of staff is extremely important for the success of companies. OOPKOP has developed a unique platform to help these companies and their staff. They do this with a method that familiarises every employee with the world of mental health. Everyone is different and has different needs, and that it works is proven by the active use of 76.5 per cent.”
