Amsterdam’s YourCampus collects donations to support earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria

Amsterdam-based YourCampus, an HR tech startup, announced on Thursday, February 9, that it has started collecting donations to support victims of the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

YourCampus users can donate through the platform. The company says it will collect the donations and transfer the full amount to Giro 7244, which is opened by the Red Cross. 

The announcement comes as multiple powerful earthquakes (7.8 and 7.5) struck the Southern part of Turkey and Syria causing widespread damage and numerous casualties. 

The earthquakes had a devastating impact, with the death toll rising to over 20,000 people and over 64,000 reported injured as of writing this article. 

YourCampus: Offering employees with flexible compensation

Founded in 2021 by Florian Gendrault, Ruben van den Boogaard, Sven Cune, George Visniuc, and Adil Bougamza, YourCampus offers employees access to a digital wallet in a mobile app customised to their employer’s corporate identity.

Employees can also use their budget in an online marketplace offering a wide variety of benefits.

The Dutch startup offers services and products from partners such as Brand New Day, HelloFresh, Swapfiets, Felyx, Classpass, and Inuka. In the Netherlands, YourCampus counts scale-ups like rapid delivery service Zapp, finance-analytics platform Owlin, and growth accelerator RocketX among its first clients.

YourCampus also provides connectivity with HR and payroll service providers such as Visma Nmbrs, HiBob, Personio, Loket, and AFAS.

Employees can pick from several modern perks and fringe benefits on the YourCampus platform using a personal budget funded by their company. 

Categories include mobility, personal development, well-being, and financial well-being. 

Existing salary components can also be used flexibly, such as a pension plan, holiday pay, and days off. 

The Dutch company responds to the fact that every employee has different needs, due to being in different stages of life or working from different locations.

In October 2022, the Amsterdam startup raised €2.7M in growth funding led by early-stage B2B software investor Newion.
