Last update:

Angular Ventures is a venture capital fund based in London, New York, and Tel Aviv. The VC invests between $250k and $1.5 million starting from day zero to Series A. It has backed over 40 seed-stage tech companies from Europe and Israel.

Notably, the firm has been operating in stealth mode for almost two years and has built a portfolio of 12 companies that aim to make 5 to 7 new investments each year. Currently, its portfolio spans the UK, Finland, Romania, Israel, and other countries.

Closes seed fund!

Today, Angular Ventures has announced the closing of its debut fund at $41 million (approx. €37.2 million) for early-stage deep technology enterprise companies. It’s global expansion plans are based in Europe and Israel.

Angular initially set out to raise $25 million (nearly €22.6 million) debut fund, but it reached $41 million. More than 50% of the fund’s capital has been pumped from the US. On the other hand, 74% of the fund’s capital base is institutional, including two US-based endowments, sophisticated family offices, and leading fund-of-funds across the world.

Builds a sector-focused firm

Gil Dibner, the general partner and founder of Angular Ventures wants to re-imagine early-seed venture capital by building a sector-focused firm. He wants to remove geographical restrictions when it comes to investing and establish a US presence to support startups as they expand globally. The VC is able to do so as its capital comes exclusively from commercial investors.

Outstanding global advisors

Angular Ventures is highly specialised on enterprise or deep tech investing. The company has assembled a slew of outstanding advisors from across the world with a portfolio of companies that support their growth as well as expansion. The advisors include the following,

  • Fred Simon, founder of JFrog
  • Eldad Farkash, founder of SiSense and founder of Firebolt, an Angular portfolio company
  • Guy Poreh, former EVP New Media at BBDO, led Wix’s US market launch, and founded Playground
  • Jerry Dischler who leads the product team for Google’s core ads business
  • Phil Wickham who founded Sozo Ventures and is the Chairman of the Kauffman Fellows Program
