The Cupertino tech giant Apple certainly looks like it is gearing up to be a big player in the AR field. Last month, we reported that Apple is said to be working on augmented reality glasses.

As per the latest report, the company has been granted a patent for AR headset that allows you to hear where people are located within a room even if they are not physically present. Notably, the company applied for the patent in 2017, and it was granted on November 26.

The patent positions these AR headphones as a business tool, especially for conference calls. Furthermore, this headphone is said to have an augmented stereo sound as well to help a user in a real or virtual meeting room.ย

In addition to it, the patent also features a head-tracking controller that analyses which way the user is looking. As a result, the headphones will adjust in the same way, if you were present in the meeting room. It’s worth mentioning that the virtual position of the receiver will also change.

According to the patent, Apple has included several preset environments that would be able to adapt to where the listener is situated like a closed room, outdoors, and much more. If the call participant is remotely based, the system will create a virtual room and assign positions to each person as they join.

Coming to the glass, Apple is set to release the AR glass soon alongside the new Macbook, iPhone SE2, as per the TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Furthermore, the report adds that the AR smart glass will work with various third-party companies to transfer information from the iPhone and display it on the glass
