German smart luggage startup Horizn has obtained a €10 million investment for endorsing its digital travel assistance platform Horizn GO. The new platform enables users to have a customised tour management solution, incorporating booking of flights and hotels.
This present round of funding is done by a group of investors including Project A, Perpetual Ventures, Vorwerk Ventures, Milano Investment Partners, and the former Puma CEO Franz Koch. Now, after the funding, Horizn has raised an overall capital of €25 million since its instigation.
Horizn – smart luggage for a smart journey
The startup offers hard-shell suitcases that are outfitted with removable power bank with USB ports. Passengers can enjoy a hassle-free journey without worrying about battery issues for their mobiles and tablets.
Equipped with high-end Japanese 360° spinner wheels and TSA-approved lock, the smart suitcases are available in different sizes and colours at a price €269 onwards. On purchasing the suitcases, the startup offers one-year free access to Horizn GO for the customers. Besides, Horizn manufactures a range of bags including laptop case, briefcases, backpacks, wallets and card holders.
Pioneer in the online luggage arena in Europe
Headquartered in Berlin, Horizn was started by Jan Roosen and Stefan Holwe in 2015. With team strength of 70 members, the startup is the first smart luggage brand across the continent.
With its premium product quality and competitive price, the company has achieved more than 60% of its overall sales from other European countries. Post the funding, Horizn aims to penetrate the global market by expanding its team and capacity.
