Vienna-based Boxbase, a gym management software for CrossFit boxes, has secured a six-figure pre-seed funding round led by Johannes Moser, co-founder of Immerok (acquired by Confluent).

Angel investor Joe Moser says, “There are many startups more glamorous than Boxbase, but I’ve rarely seen such a humble and driven founding team working relentlessly on a product that immediately adds value to hundreds of CrossFit boxes. Despite that, I believe the gym management software market has long been overdue for modernisation.”

Furthermore, Austrian serial entrepreneur Dieter Rappold (currently co-founder and CEO at ContextSDK), and Bryan Clark, VP of Product at Neon (formerly at Mozilla and GitHub) from North America, joined the funding round.

The Austrian company will use the funds to accelerate product development, expand the feature set, and broaden its reach to empower CrossFit gym owners worldwide.

Boxbase: Gym management platform

Founded by CrossFit enthusiasts Lukas Bernert and Şahin Uçar, Boxbase is a next-generation gym management platform built specifically for CrossFit gyms.

Developed in collaboration with gym owners, the company streamlines operations with features like flexible class scheduling, comprehensive workout builders, team management, seamless payment processing, and AI assistance.

Its intuitive interface makes managing a gym efficient and straightforward, allowing owners to focus on building their communities.

While Boxbase currently focuses on CrossFit gym management, it plans to expand into the broader functional fitness market, catering to Hyrox, weightlifting, yoga, and other boutique fitness gyms.

“We may look like just a SaaS company for CrossFit Boxes today, but our vision reaches far beyond that. Our goal is to build the leading boutique gym operating system, empowering thousands of passionate gym owners to become successful business owners and build thriving communities,” says Şahin Uçar, Co-Founder & CEO of Boxbase.
