Antler, a global early-stage VC, helping to build the next big wave of tech, is committed to working with startups to address the COVID-19 outbreak recently. As a part of this initiative, Antler will invest $500,000 (approx €462,685) into 5 teams consisting of startups. Reportedly, this global initiative dubbed as COVID-19 Call is fully remote and will be executed quickly.

Magnus Grimeland, founder and CEO of Antler, says:

Great necessity inspires great innovation. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt human life around the world, now is the time for innovators to come together for the greater good.

Antler’s goal is to support efforts aimed at recovering from the crisis and is seeking startups focused on the following solutions:

  • Mitigation (e.g., masks, contact tracing, surveillance, data infrastructure)
  • Medical Equipment (e.g., test kits, protective devices, ventilators)
  • Remote Health (e.g., telehealth, remote patient monitoring, symptom checkers)
  • Digital Tools (e.g., remote work, smart delivery, e-learning)

Following a screening process and initial video pitch, the finalist will be invited to present to Antler’s Investment Committee remotely. The Investment criteria for this challenge will be twofold: the ability to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and viability post-COVID-19.

Notably, companies who receive investment will be provided 1:1 coaching by Antler’s leadership as well as gain access to Antler’s global network of entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts. Applications can be submitted here until April 15.

Magnus Grimeland added:

“It has long been a mantra of the tech ecosystem that entrepreneurs are building the world of tomorrow. We are calling on the brightest to create solutions that help guarantee the global community can recover and grow following the crisis. We believe that the technologies created during this time have the potential to create a better future.”

Founded in Singapore in 2017, this startup generator’s mission is to turn exceptional individuals into great founders, creating hundreds of companies globally.

The early-stage VC offers to fund from day one, stress-tests potential cofounder pairings and business models and accelerates our founders’ ability to launch and scale rapidly.

Currently, Antler has 8 locations globally – Singapore, London, New York, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Sydney, Nairobi, and Oslo.
