Belgian startup Explore-Share has received €1 million investment from private investors. The startup is known as one of the largest online booking platforms for guided outdoor adventures. Found by Gauthier and Nicolas in 2014, the startup has so far acquired more than 10,000 listings in more than 70 countries.

Being a mountaineering and ski touring fans, both Gauthier and Nicolas found it difficult to find qualified mountain guides during their trips around the globe. And thus born, Explore-Share.

Know more about Explore-Share

The platform has been observed to have become an online industry, thus allowing its users to book unique experiences anywhere in the world, with a selection of just a few options through smart phones. The Explore-Share team works in partnership with mountain guides and mountain leaders around the world in order to help them promote their services and find new clients.

Regarding the aim of the company, Explore-Share co-founder said, “We’re on a mission to help people use technology to live truly memorable experiences outdoors, wherever their travels take them. At Explore-Share we are determined to show the world that outdoor adventures enrich people’s lives. We want to spread the word that if you want to live your life to the fullest you need to ditch the couch and get out there”.

He further added, “With a network of over 1,600 guides and local agencies, users can book an adventure practically anywhere on Earth: from Alaska to New Zealand and from Peru to Japan”.

Future Plans

After securing funding of €1 million, Explore-Share will be beginning its second stage of development. These fresh funds will help the company to continue expanding its guide community and listings, invest in new marketing channels and further develop the platform to help guides in their daily management of clients and bookings.
