The investors include French venture capitalist Anaxago, Volta Ventures, Pieterjan Bouten and Louis Jonckheere from Showpad, Jeroen Lemaire from InThePocket, Wim Vernaeve from Green Park Investment Partners, and QuaeroQ, Matexi’s investment vehicle.
With this raised capital, the Belgian proptech startup stands to gain additional resources to strategically expand into the French market.
Raphael Bochner from SweepBright, says, “Anaxago impressed us with its in-depth knowledge of the Proptech market and will be able to accelerate our ambitions in the French market by creating collaborations between SweepBright and the various companies in its portfolio.”
Alexandre Heraud of Anaxago says, “The transaction process in the French real estate sector suffers from the same inefficiencies as in Belgium. The French market is up to 10 times bigger and much more competitive for real estate agents. Moreover, the sector is facing major challenges due to the many newcomers (such as ‘online’ agencies) and the health crisis. This requires an accelerated introduction of technologies and tools where SweepBright serves as the technological backbone.”
Anaxago’s Venture Capital investment activities started in 2012. Since 2018, the
Company’s focus areas have been proptech, healthcare, fintech, and impact. The Anaxago group was founded in 2012, and claims to be the first 100% digital neo-private bank.
Founded in 2016 by Raphael Bochner, and Yoram Speaker, SweepBright is a property tech solution platform that enables real estate agents to create, distribute, and follow-up on their listings via their smartphone.
The Flemish Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the University of Antwerp support SweepBright with regard to further developments around data. According to the company, its solution embraces all the tools a real estate agency needs to increase productivity.
On average, users of SweepBright close twice as many transactions then traditional real estate agents, resulting in better margins and higher profits, claims the company.
SweepBright launched its services in the Belgian market at the end of 2017 and now registers more than 10,000 transactions per year or more than 10% of the total market. The company claims that its clients show a significant increase in efficiency as demonstrated by the number of transactions per agent.
In 2018, the company raised €2.3M in its Series A round led by Cennini Holdings, QuaeroQ, and some private investors. In addition, existing investors Volta Ventures, Pieterjan Bouten, Louis Jonckheere, and Jeroen Lemaire also participated in the round. The capital was raised to help the company power through Mexican and Australian property markets.
SweepBright has also raised two Seed round fundings in the past, including; in 2017, raised €1.5M from Volta Ventures; and in 2016, it raised €500K from Green Park Investment Partners.
