Berlin’s Deutsche Sanierungsberatung raises €3.6M to make residential homes climate neutral

Berlin-based Deutsche Sanierungsberatung (DSB), a Germany-wide energy consulting firm and renovation measures marketplace, has secured €3.6M in a seed funding round. Vireo Ventures led the investment round.

With the new funding, DSB aims to expand its platform, automate services, and accelerate growth.

In a statement translated from German, Niclas Kern, co-founder at DSB, says, “We are very happy to have top investors from the climate tech sector and experienced consumer investors as partners for our next growth phase.”

“In addition to Vireo, FJLabs, IBB and Saxovent have also joined. Our next milestones include the digital networking of our customers’ solar systems and electric cars, for example, and the integration of smart electricity tariffs on our platform.”

Making residential homes climate-neutral

Founded in 2024 by three former Enpal employees, Sebastian Schmidt, Niclas Kern and Adam Khenissi, DSB provides advisory and support services for homeowners undertaking full-property renovations. 

Its digital platform enables the planning of extensive renovation measures, including insulation and solar systems.

The company aims to simplify, reduce costs, and increase transparency in energy renovations while positioning itself as a key nationwide partner connecting homeowners with local tradespeople.

DSB offers homeowners comprehensive renovation support to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs by up to 90 per cent. Its services include the Individual Restructuring Roadmap (iSFP), which assesses a property’s condition and recommends tailored energy-saving measures.

The company also offers a funding service to help homeowners secure maximum government grants from programs like KfW and BAFA, managing the application process to minimise hassle. 

Additionally, DSB’s energy consulting service provides expert guidance on optimising subsidies and implementing efficient renovation solutions. The goal is to simplify renovations while maximising financial and environmental benefits.
