Raymon Pouwels-backed SURE Mobility and Smart Wheelz merge to form a major Dutch e-vehicle rental firm

SURE Mobility, a Dutch company that designs and develops sustainable e-bikes, and Smart Wheelz, a wholesaler of electric vehicles, have announced a merger. 

The merger will form one of the Netherlands’s largest leisure-related e-vehicle rental organisations.

Aim of the merger!

Patrick De Wit (founder of SURE Mobility) and Audrey Winters and Stuart Wehnes (Smart Wheelz’ co-founders) have collaborated in the past and believe the merger will significantly benefit rental partners, customers, and users by offering a wider range of sustainable electric vehicles and shared mobility solutions.

The companies will jointly produce, sell, and rent unique electric vehicles for the recreational and tourism sectors. 

It will also develop shared mobility concepts such as Multi Mobility Charging Islands (MMCI), Smart e-Locks, PlugManager, PACO Display, Bicycle as a Service (BaaS), and DRIVE Software Solutions.

The integration of Smart Wheelz’ E-chopper, an electric scooter suited for day rentals and private sales, will further diversify SURE Mobility’s offerings. 

The merged operations will be based in Terneuzen. They will manage inventory, service, and logistics and showcase their range of sustainable e-vehicles.

SURE Mobility: Smart utility rental e-mobility

SURE Mobility provides modular, innovative, and sustainable mobility solutions for both business and leisure markets. Its cost-effective mobility solutions help businesses reduce travel expenses, lower carbon emissions, and promote employee health.

Through the company’s consignment model, entrepreneurs can expand their offerings without upfront investment. 

The SURE Bike stands out with its hybrid supercapacitor battery, inspired by Formula 1 and used by Tesla. According to the company, this advanced battery technology is safe (non-flammable and highly secure), sustainable (long-lasting and weather-resistant), and super fast (charging to 72 per cent in just 8 minutes and fully in 30 minutes).

Smart Wheelz: Advancing electric mobility

Founded in 2021, Smart Wheelz BV is a wholesaler of electric vehicles, operating in both private and leisure markets with its E-chopper. From its locations in Goes, Netherlands, the company provides rentals for company outings, bachelor parties, and group tours.

Each of the company’s E-chopper undergoes quality checks before delivery. The Smart Wheelz App allows users to schedule service, track their vehicle, and access support.

Smart Bookings, the rental platform of Smart Wheelz BV, offers e-chopper rentals at multiple locations. With ZEGO insurance, customers can rent without a deposit.

The Smart Wheelz E-chopper seats two riders and includes Matrix LED lights, a 40Ah battery with a 120 km range, and sprung rear axles with disc brakes. A YEP child seat is available for young passengers.

The platform includes GPS tracking, an alarm system, and customer support, making electric mobility accessible and promoting sustainable transportation.
