Utrecht-based UnameIT, a provider of automotive software solutions, has secured new funding from Main Capital Partners (Main). The amount, however, remains undisclosed. This investment represents Main’s entry into the automotive software market.

Main Capital Partners is a software investor managing private equity funds in the Benelux, DACH, Nordics, and the US, with €6B in assets under management. With over 20 years of experience, Main works with portfolio management teams to drive growth and expand software companies.

Making software for car companies

Founded in 1996, UnameIT is a provider of automotive software solutions in the Benelux region. The company offers an integrated suite of solutions that helps customers manage commercial sales and aftersales processes, including lead management, sales management, marketing campaigns, and retargeting.

UnameIT offers products that cover the commercial processes for automotive dealerships and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

The company serves large dealers, including single-brand and multi-brand dealers, independent automotive companies, OEMs, leasing companies, and importers, with clients such as Renault, Ford, Van Mossel, Stellantis, and Bosch. Currently, UnameIT serves over 500 customers in the Benelux region.

UnameIT and Main collaboration

UnameIT’s management team will retain a significant minority stake and remain involved after the deal. Main will support the company’s international expansion, particularly into the DACH region, leveraging its B2B software market expertise.

UnameIT’s growth strategy includes both organic growth and a selective buy-and-build approach.

Robert van Adelerhof, CEO of UnameIT, says, “We are very happy to announce our partnership with Main, as this is the right time for us to extend our reach. Over the years, we’ve built UnameIT to what it is today: a software supplier for automotive dealerships in the Benelux-region, among which the majority of the largest dealer holdings.”

“Our tools are focused on helping dealerships navigate their core processes in a more efficient way, helping them to gain more control over their processes, and improve their commercial performance and bottom-line results.”

“The partnership with Main will try to help us reach our goal to become a leading European automotive software player, as their proven track record in B2B SaaS will be invaluable in guiding us through the next phase of growth of our company.”

Jeffrey Sanya, Investment Director at Main, adds, “We are excited to announce that Main is partnering with UnameIT, a prominent player in the Dutch automotive software market. UnameIT plays a crucial role in supporting the largest dealerships in the Netherlands, within an industry that presents significant growth potential.”

“We see numerous opportunities to assist the team in advancing digital transformation in the sector and expanding UnameIT’s suite into neighbouring markets, such as Germany. We look forward to embarking on this new partnership and, alongside the management team, we are committed to guiding UnameIT to become a leading European automotive software provider.”
