While the advancement of technology has disrupted many industries, the education sector is not left alone. There is a range of tools that are used to enhance the education sector and make the learning process simpler and easier for everyone.

When it comes to educational toys, LoCoMoGo, a Dutch startup founded by Kibet Kipkemoi in 2019 has disrupted the sector with its toy train. The startup reinvented the classic toy train to teach children aged between four and 12 coding through play.

Secures additional €100k

During the challenging times caused due to the spread of the coronavirus, LoCoMoGo, the first non-robot toy is still thinking about the future of children. Eventually, the startup has raised an additional €100k, which is 10x its initial goal on the Kickstarter. The Fun First approach to learning has gained momentum on Kickstarter and the campaign was funded within the first 10 hours.

Fun First journey for children

The LoCoMoGo Train provides a Fun First journey that lets children gradually learn coding through play. It lets even those who do not have an affinity for robotics or engineering to explore the opportunities in coding. Unlike traditional educational toys, this one does not focuses much on programming first and prioritises the fun-loving nature in every kid.

Represented the Netherlands at CES 2020!

LoCoMoGo was one of the 50 Dutch startups that represented the Netherlands at the CES 2020 back in January this year at Las Vegas. Given that the Consumer Electronics Show is one of the biggest tech events, this edutech startup is undoubtedly gaining traction.

How does LoCoMoGo work?

LoCoMoGo encourages screen-less coding by enabling coding through colour and learning basic if-then code logic in a fun and simple way. It connects to a phone or tablet and enables programming of the entire train. It can be used along with the LoCoMoGo app.
